LG Officially Announces New Chocolate Phone LG BL40

Having made his first official appearance at a site engineered LG last Wednesday, the LG Chocolate BL20 finally have a press release and product page to go along with the specifications. Smaller - and less complex - the brother of BL40, BL20 is the arrival in the UK on O2 in the 4th quarter of 2009 with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.

This camera has an "open memo capture" mode, according to LG, BL20 possible to take better pictures of text, handwritten notes and diagrams. This can be useful to send to the organization and transcription services like Evernote.

The specs are a little basic for a new high end phone from LG, with no 3G and a 900mAh battery on board.

That means that standby time is 450 hours and talktime five hours according to LG, although that will probably drop off in real use.

The screen pales in comparison to the WVGA of the BL40 too, only coming in at a QVGA 240 x 320 resolution.

Pricing for the LG BL40 Chocolate has not yet been announced.

Features:

  • HSDPA data connectivity
  • WiFi connectivity
  • 1000mAh li-ion battery is rated for 5 hours of 3G talk time or 6 hours of 2G talk.
  • The phone's document viewer can read MS Office files and PDF files as well.
  • The BL40's 5.0 megapixel camera features autofocus and an LED flash and includes video recording capability.
  • Clear Memo Capture which captures text, handwritten notes and drawings with maximum clarity, offering a different way to record information.
  • Touch-sensitive controls which are discretely concealed on the sides of the phone.

Mobile Phone Vibration

HPVS (Human Phantom Vibration Syndrome) is a kinetic sculpture that considers the subtle, often-subconscious ways that mobile communication technologies shape our senses.

The title references the recently discovered Human Phantom Vibration Syndrome — a syndrome wherein mobile phone users become hyper-attentive to their mobile devices, often experiencing phantom ringing sensations even in the absence of incoming calls or messages. This work carefully orchestrates the vibrations of a collection of mobile phones to produce a familiar yet quietly-disturbing cacophony.

Then googling relieved me and i was surprised to see that i am not the only one, and there are tons of people who have experienced the same and possible explanation i got on the net after googling "Phantom cellphone vibrations also can be explained by neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to form new connections in response to changes in the environment.".
