Windows 8 makes Intel very, very happy

To say that Intel CEO Paul Otellini is optimistic about the prospects for Microsoft's Windows 8 may be a bit of an understatement. In fact, said Otellini Windows 8 is "one of the best things that ever happened to our company."

It's a pretty strong statement. Speaking at a Credit Suisse Technology Conference, so Otellini beaten path, which he called myths about Intel. These myths relate to the idea that ARM will hurt Intel, PC is toast and that the chip giant is not mobile.

Many of these concerns, myths in Intel's view, the links to Windows 8 Here's what Otellini said about Windows 8:

We are very excited about Windows 8 I think it's one of the best things that ever happened to our company. And it is a very good operating system, not just PCs, but we think that will give tablets to produce identification really mainstream computing, especially in companies that do not have today. A large part of its executives are worried about security, they are concerned about the difficulty of their legacy applications to offer an Android tablet or an iPhone.

What Microsoft is doing is making them seamlessly. And they have a new experience, which they called Metro, which is the interface there. But for Intel-based machines, there is a button that basically takes you back to your classic Windows experience, which is essentially a software switch.

So you just a manifestation of the operating system with two different GUI running, if you will, it is not run on virtual machines, it is a manifestation. So this gives us, x86, especially, I think a unique advantage when Windows 8 comes on the market because we can take advantage of the legacy that was ever written, and all that all the drivers for the mouse and printers and any other USB device in the world. For example. Get pictures from your camera on a tablet

Try that if you do not have a driver does not work. On the other hand, if the tablet is running [an expansion] of Windows is it working as it works with a PC today. So there is a huge advantage, built in that we think we like Windows 8 product launch to start.

These comments followed a question about the ARM architecture. Otellini said that Windows 8 on ARM, a range of disabilities, including support for older programs. Otellini Windows 8 on ARM compared to the transition to Apple moved to Intel from PowerPC. In other words, the switch is not trivial.

3-D Printer Used to Make Bone-Like Material

Washington State University researchers have used a 3-D printer for a bone-like material and structure that can be used in orthopedic procedures, dental work to create and deliver drugs to treat osteoporosis. Compared with the actual bone, it acts as a scaffold for new bone to grow and eventually disappear without apparent side effects.

The authors report on a successful in vitro tests in the journal Dental Materials, and says that they are already promising results with in vivo tests in rats and rabbits. It is possible that doctors will be able to custom order replacement bone for a few years, said Susmita Bose, co-author and professor in the WSU School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

"If a doctor has a CT scan of a defect, we can convert it to a CAD file and create the scaffold on the basis of the defect," Bose said.

The material comes from a four-year interdisciplinary efforts in chemistry, materials science, biology and production. An important conclusion of the paper is that the addition of silicon and zinc over the strength of the main material, calcium phosphate doubled.

The researchers - which includes mechanical and materials engineering professor Amit Bandyopadhyay, PhD student and research assistant Gary Fielding Solaiman Tarafder - even a year long there is a commercially available 3-D printer Prometal designed to make metal objects.

The printer works by spraying a jet having a plastic binder on a bed of powder in layers of 20 microns, about half the width of a human hair. Following instructions from a computer, it creates a channeled cylinder about the size of a pencil eraser.

After only one week in a medium containing immature human bone cells, it was the scaffold supporting a network of new bone cells.

The research was funded by a $ 1500000 grant from the National Institutes of Health.

Facebook may submit an IPO before the end of the year, said the person who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. Exact timing for submission has not been determined, the person said.

At 10 billion, it would make more money than any other technology IPOs to rise, a sign investors are eager for a piece of the top social networking company to get. The amount that would dwarf the previous record holder, Infineon Technologies AG, the $ 5.23 billion in its 1999 debut generated. Agere Systems Inc. raised $ 4.14 billion in 2000, making it the second.

Facebook's $ 100 billion valuation would be twice as high as it was in January when the company a $ 1.5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and other lenders announced a $ 50 billion. Facebook is currently at $ 66.6 billion share of the Post Office Inc., which handles trade in close companies.

Facebook is expected to be required by U.S. securities regulators announce the results on 30 April 2012, if not to go public at that time, the company said in January. The social-networking company decided to wait until 2012 for its IPO as CEO Mark Zuckerberg gives more time for the user to stimulate sales, three people said last year.

Jonathan Thaw, a spokesman for Palo Alto, fell California-based Facebook to comment.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier today that Facebook is a $ 10 billion IPO argue with a valuation of over $ 100 billion. The company aims to go public between April and June, the Journal said.

Difference Between HTTP and HTTPS Protocols

If we want the pages to surf the web, we usually write the URL in the address bar for each of them to begin with http:// or https://. What makes it different Internet address while you are using one of them, keeping the full address of the same next to it and where is the difference? Let us understand what each of these, http and https stands for, followed by their difference.

HTTP:
HTTP or Hypertext Transfer Protocol represents how information is sent in the direction back and forth between client machine and web server. This protocol means the language in which information is transferred. Hypertext Transfer Protocol transmission will take place through port 80, through a wire. If you type http:// in the address bar, it means that the website you are visiting lacking safety features, enough to make you careful not to share confidential information over the web. The information on this website may be available to third parties, which makes it vulnerable.

HTTPS:
HTTPS, or Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure is a secure and reliable way to transfer information from the client machine to the web server. The "S" in the end is different from HTTP HTTPS, providing the extra security. HTTPS protocol made by Netscape and was introduced as a feature built into the Netscape browser. HTTPS port 443 is used when interacting with TCP / IP instead of port 80, used in HTTP.

While we use ports to surf normal websites, HTTPS, but it is used when logging into the online shopping sites where credit card information is sent to the security of the information disclosed to last. The first page you encounter when entering https in the address bar is "You are pages over a secure connection to see." The moment you enter https, the interaction with the website is secure with no third person can access the data you have landed there.

For this reason, you must be careful that you never have your bank login information to fill out an http site. The risk factor is maximum for such websites to provide your sensitive information across.

Car Insurance Price Comparison App

A British price comparison company has become the first to launch a car insurance price comparison app which is available to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users.

MoneySupermarket.com has said that it believes that its latest innovation will help to revolutionise the price comparison market by allowing motorists to compare car insurance quotes on the go at any time. This will likely prove invaluable to people who are on the look out for a new car; allowing them to find out how much they are likely to be paying to insure themselves on a particular vehicle before committing to a purchase.

Although the app is currently only available to British motorists; the company believes that it will inspire competitors to produce similar products which take advantage of the developing smart phone technology in the near future. American insurers might also make similar efforts; taking heed of efforts being made in the more developed European insurance market place.

The MoneySupermarket car insurance app which was developed by renowned digital technology company MIG (Mobile Interactive Group) is available for download either from iTunes or the MoneySupermarket.com website itself.

Once the app has been downloaded, you will be required to create a MoneySupermarket.com account if you do not already have one which contains information about yourself such as gender, age and occupation; all of which will have an impact on premiums. This information will then not have to be filled in when the app is used on subsequent occasions; saving users both time and effort.

Inputting information about the vehicle has also been made simpler, with the app retrieving data stored about vehicles on the DVLA website upon taking a photograph of the cars registration plate.

Once these two sets of information have been entered, users will then be taken to a fresh page containing the quotes which are on offer through over 100 car insurance companies. Each of these quotes will have a ‘click to call’ button located alongside them so that users have a means of contacting prospective insurers in order to make enquiries or arrange for the proposed cover to be put in place.

MoneySupermarket.com insurance expert Julie Fisher commented: “The launch of our app is a real leap forward and brings insurance comparison up to date with consumer expectations.”

“We hope that by having a great car insurance buying experience over a smart phone or tablet for our customers the industry will soon follow our lead and optimise their sites to support those who want to buy their car cover while they’re on the move. We know more and more of our customers are actively using these devices to access our site and emails. We identified that making this easier for consumers was vital and by working with our partner Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) we have created a great solution for our customers.”

MIG’s David Balko added: “This has been a really great and collaborative project which has pulled on all of MIG’s strategic, creative and technological expertise.”

“The app utilises all of the Apple functionality, combines great designs and has grouped key customer questions together into groups, to turn what was once a complicated solution into something that is simple, easy and effective for all MoneySupermarket customers to use.”

World's first pee-controlled video game opens in London bar

Most pubs and bars, go for a pee, is just that - to empty the bladder, wash your hands and return to your table. But, take a pee in the exhibition bar in South London, and you get a completely different experience.

You see, the exhibition has taken it upon themselves to install in a bathroom of his men Pee-controlled video games, games with names like Smart thoroughly Dick and on the slopes. The system is believed that the first of its kind in the world and beyond to make a trip to the toilet more entertaining, it will also be an opportunity for advertisers to promote their products.

Developed by British Captive Media's high-tech urinals are supplied with 12-inch LCD screens feature just above them. Ads play on the screens to punt approaching urinal. Discovering that the gambler is in place and ready to pee, the system then in gaming mode.

"Advanced algorithms the user can do something simple, but very engaging - operating system simply by pursuing their flow to the left or right," says the blurb on Captive Media website. So with the ski game, you are able to navigate the course with some subtle but decisive movements. How well you come to the game completely in your hands, so to speak.
Sea-controlled urinals is the brainchild of Gordon MacSween, a man who actually paid to pee. "We tend to drink lots of water so we can test the product more often," he told the London Time Out Magazine.

MacSween said that since the system was tested recently in a bar in Cambridge, some of the behavioral changes were observed public urination. "There's less mess, we basically expect, because we design the game so you do not splash around and less vandalism," he explained.

"When we put it in, people thought it would be ripped from the wall within a week, but it's still there after four months. Because people with a smile, there is much less vandalism. People just tend to have less be angry. "

At one point MacSween was stunned by the players' ability to obtain scores far above anything he ever got. After talking with several clients, he found out why. "It shows that people learn to stop and start (urine flow) to get a higher score." So if you ever find yourself peeing on the points that you know exactly what to do.

The exhibition opened his new bar bathroom on Friday. It is quite possible that for the first time ever in Britain an outlet, there will be more than the bathroom for a drink lining.

It is unknown whether there is something that is bound Media planned to women's bathroom.

The new Magic Trackpad from Apple

Exciting news today as Apple releases Magic Trackpad desktop.
This seems to be a battery-powered external mouse replacement (or it can be used with a mouse) corresponds to the multi-touch a large button on the touchpad to see the latest MacBook Pros. The Magic Trackpad is wireless with Bluetooth and runs on two AA batteries.

Size wise Magic Trackpad is about 80% larger than the one we have grown to love the MacBook Pro, but it is still made of the same smooth abrasion-resistant glass will feel so great to the touch.

I'm personally a big fan of the MacBook Pro trackpad and find it more convenient than a mouse for approximately 90% of activities in daily use. So for me it's Magic Trackpad a very exciting new product.

Apple actually priced this new unit is also very wise, only $ 69 from their website.

Here is an excerpt from the website of Apple ...

The new Magic Trackpad is the first Multi-Touch trackpad is designed to work with your Mac desktop. It uses the same Multi-Touch technology you love to the MacBook Pro. And it supports a complete set of movements that give you a whole new way to manage and interact with what is on your screen. Reading through the pages online feels just like flipping through pages in a book or magazine. Slow and makes scrolling up and down motion of a page more natural than ever. Magic Trackpad connects to your Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology. Use it instead of a mouse or in conjunction with one.

Windows 8 bootkit doesn't really defeat 'secure boot'

Stoned bootkit Lite uses old BIOS firmware that Microsoft has dumped UEFI on Windows 8

Reports of a newly developed bootkit for Windows 8 is tempting, given the many positive and negative attention from the U.S. "Safe Boot" function has accumulated. It appears that the malware to be unveiled this month MalCon really exploit vulnerabilities in older PC legacy boot procedures that will miss the new machines loaded with Windows 8

Developed by security expert Peter Kleissner they bootkit - Stoned nickname Lite - affects Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008 and works the same way Stoned bootkit its maker, which affects Windows 2000 through Windows 7 It attaches to the master boot record of the hard disk of the target PC drive and bypass Windows UAC (User Account Control) so that the reading before Windows starts. The boat kits payload uses the command-line privilege escalation process right to elevate cmd.exe System Kleissner told Softpedia. It also stains OS password validation function that allows an attacker to login to a local user with a password.

The small footprint bootkit 14KB would be a good candidate to infect machines via a CD or a USB device. But both rocky and Stoned Lite only works on PCs BIOS ROM firmware to use when booting. Microsoft Windows 8 in September that requires its host machine for UEFI Protocol in the name of safe boot. UEFI provides a secure boot protocol that requires the OS to provide a digital key to load the machine. UEFI can block the operation of programs or drivers, unless it is signed by this key, a step that malware to infect machines be prevented by changing the boot-loading process.

What that means is when PCs loaded with Windows 8 on the market, they will not susecptible this bootkit that UEFI is a requirement. Only users who find a way to install Windows 8 on older machines and abandon UEFI will have cause for concern.

Kleissner himself has admitted that not Stoned Lite UEFI, but rather aims legacy BIOS. "The problem with the legacy boot MBR is that no one, so check the vulnerable point with UEFI and safe boat, the boat all programs and drivers must be signed. Otherwise they are not loaded," he told Softpedia.

It would mean that currently new approach by Microsoft to protect Windows at startup is actually effective against this type bootkit as long as machines are, indeed, UEFI run. The development is not likely to rest controversy as to whether Windows 8 will ship's safe to prevent users from launching a non-Windows OS such as Linux on their machines.

Kleissner plans to release Stoned Lite MalCon in India on 25 November, together with a paper titled "The Art of Bootkit development" that speaks to both develop and defend against the boat kits.

Startup to Capture Lithium from Geothermal Plants

The approach will enhance U.S. lithium production as demand is set to soar with increased electric car use.

As portable electronics become increasingly popular, and the electric vehicle market is declining, the demand for lithium-a critical component of rechargeable lithium-ion battery can rise. But only two countries, Chile and Australia dominates world production of lithium.

California startup Simbol Materials think it could increase the domestic production of lithium by extracting the element, together with manganese and zinc from the brine used by geothermal power plants.

In the late 1990s, is produced in the U.S. 75 percent of lithium carbonate in the world, but it represents only 5 percent. This is partly because American manufacturers could not use a low-cost competitive lithium chemicals from Chile. The U.S. produces no manganese at all. "But we have this resource currently allocated to the production of geothermal energy," says Luka ERCEG, Simbol CEO. "This is a fantastic opportunity to produce clean, renewable energy harvesting and critical materials in a sustainable manner."

The global demand for lithium chemicals was around 102,000 tonnes in 2010. This is expected to be as high as 320,000 in 2020, primarily due to increased electric vehicle use. The world's largest lithium resources are estimated by the U.S. Geological Survey to be in Bolivia. Most manufacturers, including the world's largest, in Chile, typically make the material by pumping salt water into swimming pools to evaporate in the sun for 18 to 24 months. This process provides a concentrated lithium chloride, which is converted to lithium carbonate. The only American producer, Chemetall Foote, drills brine at Silver Peak, Nevada.

Simbol plans to fall back on a 50-MW geothermal plant near the Salton Sea in Imperial Valley, California, which pumps hot brine from deep underground to generate steam for a turbine. The plant currently spraying brine, which is 30 percent dissolved solids, including lithium, manganese and zinc, has returned to earth after the steam. Simbol will detract from the brine of the power plant for reinjection into its process equipment. There will still warm brine flowing through its own medium that filters out salts within a few hours. Simbol has also acquired assets and intellectual property of a now defunct Canadian company for a purification process that the world's highest purity lithium carbonate. ERCEG expected to compete with the lowest cost Chilean farmers who produce lithium at $ 1,500 per ton.

Simbol is currently a pilot plant that filters 20 liters per minute. The commercial plant near Salton Sea, will begin construction in 2012 and the capacity to annually produce 16,000 tons of lithium carbonate. The world's third largest producer, by comparison, is 22,000 tons. In 2020, tripling production Simbol expand to more geothermal power plans ERCEG says. But for now, is to buy low-grade lithium carbonate for the treatment of other producers and expects high purity product overseas sales by the end of this year.

Other lithium mining projects planned or underway in the world, including two more in Nevada. Keith Evans, a geologist and industrial minerals expert, says that if they all come online, the global production in 2020 at more than 426,000 tons, far exceeding demand. Yet more U.S. production makes the country self-sufficient. Moreover, he says, Simbol may have an advantage over other companies in the U.S.. "If their process is as good as they say it is, it can be a very low-cost producer," says Evans. "It's potentially a very exciting project if it works."

The Web's Crystal Ball Gets an Upgrade

Shortened link Bitly can predict the next trend-line partnership with VeriSign is the predictive value increase.

Thousands of people every day Bitly use link-shortening service to tame the unwieldy Web links to share on Twitter and other social media sites. Few realize that they are both in New York City company peer-help in the future of the Internet. Bitly analyzes the page pointed to by the 80 million short links, it generates every day to predict changes in public attitudes to people and businesses. Now Bitly is configured to access a wealth of new data to its Web crystal ball was even better at predicting the future to gain.

Bitly has reached a data sharing agreement with VeriSign, based in Dulles, Virginia. VeriSign acts as a directory for the Internet. Each address typed into a browser is sent to Verisign servers at one or a handful of other organizations that contribute to that URL into a numerical address that a computer can use the Internet to find it necessary.

Verisign sees over 50 billion URLs each day, and like Bitly, track what people do online as a result gets. Especially add VeriSign's data a sense of social activity outside Bitly places where links are used. Andrew Cohen, General Manager Bitly would not give details about what this would allow, but says he will investigate the possible use of the data to its business reputation monitoring system to improve.

Even without help from Verisign, Bitly can now predict when a company's reputation is taking the plunge. Cohen gives the example of the OnStar vehicle tracking company, and not Bitly a client who was caught in a privacy policy controversy last month. It began when a customer wrote a blog post to read the following policy OnStar that movements of the directors who have canceled the service is still observed. If the position were adopted around the social media, Bitly algorithms recorded a growing anger directed at OnStar. "We see the acceleration in the number of clicks," says Cohen, says that an OnStar customer had been warned that there would Bitly serious trouble was ahead. And yes, the story was picked up by mainstream press, led to OnStar senators to criticize, and forced the company to change its policy.

Cohen compares Bitly service is a smoke detector. "You do not hear about very often, but it's important when you do," he says. These data will probably let Verisign Bitly better quantify these predictions, because it can measure the normal traffic on a site and any deviations from it. "It gives Bitly a handle on the pulse of the Internet," said Johan Bollen, a computer scientist at Indiana University. "It gives them more influence."

Bitly VeriSign can also use the data to the temporal resolution of monitoring to improve, says Bollen. There is always a delay between a shortened link is clicked Bitly and the person receiving it, it makes a direct Verisign data log of the websites people visit.

Siemens Boosts Its Stake in Tidal Power

The technical fight like the predictability of Marine Power to be "calculated centuries in advance."

Marine energy has long been considered a niche area, capable of only a few percent of global energy needs. But this seemingly limited energy source is currently a large number of players, the latest Siemens. The German engineering giant expands its stake this month in Bristol, England-based Marine Current Turbines tidal developer of less than 10 percent to 45 percent. The attraction, according to Michael Axmann, Chief Financial Officer of Siemens solar and hydro power business, the predictability of Marine Power.

Solar and wind farms fight to predict future production, and poor forecasting can wreak havoc in power transmission systems planning and market prices. In contrast, features of the moon and sun, which controls the tidal cycles a sure way to anticipate the result of tidal power plants. "Power output of the systems can be calculated in centuries before," said Axmann.

The result may be higher yields. Axmann notes that tidal energy is "not subject to volatility. This increases the value of the energy produced, thereby making the business case for reliable investor and operator."

Axmann declined to say how much value would be added at this predictability. But he expects that in 2020, marine turbines to deliver power at a price that is competitive with existing wind farms in spite of the challenges involved in engineering for underground work.

Marine Current Turbines CEO Andrew Tyler says that a combination of savings and government incentives will ensure the profitability of his company's tidal energy farms. He expects a return on investment in the company's first two offshore farms: a proposal for four turbine off Scottish Isle of Skye and a five-turbine array in the northwest coast of Wales.

Cost savings will be partly a result of scaling its dual-rotor units to two megawatts to 1.2 megawatts generated by the demonstration turbine power in Northern Ireland's Strangford Lough produced since 2008. Future savings, Tyler says, comes mainly from efficiency in the collection of equipment and logistics, based on Siemens' expertise in this area.

The company also expects incentives in the form of the British and Scottish system of subsidies. The tidal farms will also be the company with sustainable generation credits that utilities must acquire to meet the renewable energy standard in the United Kingdom. Last month, informed the United Kingdom plans to funding for wave and tidal energy boost plants 2-5 per megawatt-hour of electricity. In comparison to offshore wind farms earn two points, and the burning of biomass power plants will earn one.

Tyler estimates that the first power parks will be 15,000 to 20,000 megawatt-hours per year to produce, which means that the tidal turbine arrays per year £ 3,750,000 ($ 6,000,000) earn incentives.

Germany to sue Facebook over facial recognition

Protection is preparing a lawsuit against Facebook over the face detection function, which is used for photo tagging on social networks

Hamburg Protection (CBP) are preliminary procedures for the lawsuit against Facebook back on the Face Detection function used for photo tagging on social networks. The authority has decided that further negotiations are pointless after the social networking giant has no retroactive force agreement with the permission of the user.

German data protection laws require companies to clearly inform users about how their personal information is used and Hamburg Data Protection Agency says it does not happen when Facebook began using facial recognition technology for photo tag suggestions.

As a compromise suggested Facebook introducing a check box for users to general conditions and guidelines for the use of data to accept, but DPA believes that such a solution is not sufficient to justify the collection of biometric facial features and usage.

Moreover, this option is only available to new users, which means that people who are not already registered are asked for their consent. John Caspar, Hamburg commissioner for data protection and freedom of information, describes the results of several months of discussions with the social networking company as disappointing.

Hamburg Data Protection spokesman Maik Moller said the government is elected by the other German DPA to act in this case. Disputes will be brought before the Administrative Court of Hamburg and could result in a fine of up to € 300.000 ($ 407.000), and a ban, he added.

The Company does not agree with the German authorities and believes that litigation is unnecessary because the tag suggestions feature is consistent with EU data protection laws.

"We have extensive knowledge and educate our users about the roof and proposes that we create a very simple tool for people to opt out if they do not want this feature to work. We have carefully considered various options to make people even more aware about our privacy policy and is disappointed that the Hamburg data protection authority has not accepted it, "the company said in a statement.

There is a problem of jurisdiction because the European Office for Facebook is based in Ireland. Professor Joseph Cannataci who is an expert advisor on the European data protection to the European Council and coordinator of the EU-funded research Consent, explained that while the German constitution protects the right to personality and informational self-determination, fundamental laws in other EU countries can not do the same. The project focuses on permission-privacy issues related to online social networking and user-generated content.

The European Data Protection Directive of 1995 specifically excluded the right to informational self-determination, which includes the German constitution, Cannataci said. Moreover, the directive in the legislation of the Member States in the same way, not all European data protection authorities on identical case against Facebook takes Hamburg DPA.

"The European Commission is good to start, execute, and implement a comprehensive reform of the data protection regime" Cannataci said, referring to Monday's announcement by the EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding and Minister in Germany for Consumer Protection Ilse Aigner that the proposals for reform the EU directive on data protection will be made at the end of January 2012.

Facebook has privacy in terms of legal issues in the U.S. where it is reportedly close to settling allegations of deceptive trade practices brought by the FTC. The FTC investigated after Facebook made some user information public in December 2009 following changes to privacy.

Google buys Katango to boost Google+ Circles feature

Katango software uses algorithms to the segmentation of social network friends lists to automate in small groups

Google has bought Katango begin to improve and refine Circles friend-grouping functionality in the new social networking site from Google.

Katango software automatically sorts users Facebook friends and iPhone contacts into groups, using an algorithm to a variety of online interaction and data analysis.

Google wants to use technology to Circles of Google Members section allows their friends in different groups so they can share some things with one set of relatives and other colleagues, for instance to improve.

Katango his iPhone application in July and in August launched the web application was created with the aim to automate the often arduous process to create, edit and maintain friend lists in social networks.

"In the earliest days of Google, I alluded to the fact that we had big plans for the Circle. Are you ready for some magic in your community? These people are magicians!" Writing Google Vice President of Product Bradley Horowitz at Google profile, confirm the purchase.

It is unclear what will happen to Katango applications which ironically will not work with Google. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

For now think the iPhone version of Katango being removed from Apple's App Store and through the company website refers to a brief statement about the Google acquisition.

Yet Facebook has its own native auto-friend group, which was launched in mid-September, in response to longstanding complaints that tool to do it manually was cumbersome and rarely used.

The question of cutting the friend lists on social networking becomes more and more irrelevant as people gather hundreds and thousands of contacts, creating the need for more grain in choosing what thoughts, links, videos and photos to share with whom.

Email Technology Turns 40 Years Old

E-mail is a convenient and high-speed communications, is relatively new to the community if we look at the big picture. E-mail has changed the way business is conducted between businesses but also elsewhere, that the communications required, such as universities. I think it's safe to say that e-mail communication, the world changed for the better, and it's hard to imagine without the existence of e-mails. Of the funny jokes, forward holiday e-mails and business correspondence, e-mails are a variety of purposes and benefits the individual and business.

It's a little hard to believe for some e-mail, who recently turned 40, while for others it looks like he has been out for much longer. Just the matter, e-mail form of communication recently his 40 th birthday! In my personal life I am very happy that e-mail with because it met so many advantages. As fast communication, although the organization of correspondence with your contacts in one place, etc. It takes away from personal communication talk in person or by telephone, in some cases it is better for the people involved, cut down on time and is very convenient. As a student it is almost impossible to study life without email. Not checking your email at least twice a day can leave you in the loop on the canceled classes, reminders of tasks on the ground and advises e-mails.

I'm sure businesses, e-mail is very important for essentially the same reasons it is important to me as a student. It will be interesting to see how the emails continues to evolve in the future, or perhaps with the advent of new technology or it will be removed and something else takes its place.

Average Facebook User Has 130 friends

Without doubt the biggest game-changer online in the last five years social media. The growth with that of the major players in the online space is awesome, and leaders in the field is Facebook, the world's largest social networks. Facebook is so popular that it is redefining how we interact in the 21st century, some may see this new paradigm as a social threat, while most in the industry as a possibility.

A gender perspective, it is easy to see why this opinion is shaped by many people. Facebook is now 800 million active users strong, and incredibly, 200 million of those users added in 2011 and the year is not finished. If the monthly growth keeps up, Facebook still add another 30 million users, so easy. And while the social network grows especially outside the U.S. figures could very well come to fruition.

Facebook is able to redefine the interaction is mainly due to the way users view their social networks. Average Facebook users have about 130 friends and more than half of the 800 million users log on to Facebook every day. So not only heavy users of the network, they are very active, almost Facebook therapy and religious ritual fire. Advertisers and marketers know that when you tap into this 'culture' of interaction, the financial rewards are unlimited, and that's the main reason Facebook is worth so much.

Cheers To Finger Power!

Mind you, this is not a "Green" concept, or claim to be "Eco Friendly". It's just a practical solution to a difficult situation. Situation: You run out of juice on your mobile phone. So what do you do? Remove the battery from the back of the phone, give it a good few laps around your index finger and gathered enough power to last you a call or a safe ride to your charger and Power Point.

A Friendlier Facebook App :- FriendCaster Pro

Just because Facebook is the official Apps for platforms like Android does not mean you must use the social network. Third-party apps available, and sometimes they are better. Case in point: FriendFeed wheels Pro for Android. It is a pleasure to use, especially if you compare it with some older versions of Facebook mobile interfaces.
Pro caster friend, an app from OneLouder are available for U.S. $ 4.99 in the Android Market.

Facebook has 800 million active users, more than 350 million of them currently have access to Facebook via mobile devices, the company said. October was updated Messenger Facebook app, called 1.5, deploy to iOS, Android and BlackBerry with updated features including the ability to see when someone is writing, and check whether they are asleep. We also saw Facebook challenging Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone app with one that allows developers to bypass Apple Store.

What we have not heard much about Facebook alternatives - the third-party apps that load faster, and other features that the official apps not given. One of the Facebook app is ad-free caster FriendFeed Pro for Android, also updated in October, and now sees a jump in downloads over Facebook "official" app.

I decided to give FriendFeed wheel a whim. I was particularly interested in the media to record and upload functions - until recently - are incredibly poor at the official Facebook apps.

App Installation

Accessing the Friend Wheel app for the first time, I was presented with a series of warnings about access to the inside of my phone service, including the terrifying permission requests as "my data access at any time" and "access to information people share with me. "There were actually 16 such requests rights - the most I ever asked.

I think it is the nature of social networks. It felt weird, but I hit "Allow" and wondered who was the first of my friends deny to be plundered by the enemy "information that people share with me."

Apple Releases iOS 5.0.1; Does It Fix Anything?

This update is rolled out to the inconsistent battery life of iPhone 4S and 5 other IOS devices to solve.
Apple has finally started to roll out iOS 5.0.1 update. There are many changes coming with this update that is designed for any errors on iOS 5-units to solve. The update is applicable for all five runs IOS devices like iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 3 and 4 generation iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad second

The best thing about this update is that users do not have their iDevice plug the USB cable to your computer to download the update. The update is OTA (Over The Air), this time around so you can do it without connecting to iTunes on your computer. All the user needs to do is go to Settings> General> Software Update, and if there is an update to your device, you will be notified immediately (given that you're on a Wi-Fi or 3G network), and You can download the update immediately.

Apple Introduces IOS updates from Delta 5, so only the desired changes are made, and the system will not be changed, as with previous versions of IOS. Partly because of the nature of this update, its size is only 39.2 MB compared to half concert with iOS 4 updates. The update is quite easy and not take too much time. Users should ensure that their unit did not run out of juice during the update, so it is better to recharge before using this approach, or better yet, keep charging.
What is new with the update, you might ask. Well, since the iPhone iOS 4S and 5 was rolled out, customers have complained about poor battery life. It appears that the Time Zone Setting function that was preinstalled with iOS 5 Update seems to have been a problem. This, along with a few other factors were responsible for the lack of consistency in its lifetime. Fortunately, Apple has confirmed that the 5.0.1 update of early beta testers have said that it did not improve the battery life considerably.
For iPhone users, Apple has added new multi-tasking gesture with the update. The gestures work perfectly on the iPhone with a few sweeping techniques to switch between apps. There is a little known bug related to storing documents in the cloud also found. The final fix was for Australian iPhone users complain about posts, but now correctly recognizes Aussie accent. It is still unknown whether iOS 5.0.1 actually improves the battery life on 4S and 5 other IOS devices, but a lot of users report that nothing has changed with the update. We found users to express their opinion about the new update on various forums.

Since this topic is (almost) solved another bug turned up, apparently. Well, who reports that users have come across a new book bug that does not show contact name if the user receives an SMS or phone calls. Users, apparently, only the number when calls or messages on their iPhone. This has been spotted at a few iDevice and more we hear from Apple. It seems that iOS 5 Battery saga is not over, and to make matters worse, a new bug popped up. We hope Apple fixes this soon.

Sony working on a 'different kind of Television set'

Apple is not alone in thinking seriously about reinventing TV, unveiled Sony CEO Howard Stringer.
According to Sony CEO, who spoke yesterday with The Wall Street Journal that his company has a tremendous amount of research and development goes in a different form of television. "Stringer refused to detail what his company can offer TV services.

For Stringer and Sony, there is much at stake in the television industry. In recent quarters, is his company's television operations continued to drag profits as a result of Sony loses money on every TV it sells, says Stringer. These losses have led to a number of Sony shareholders to call the company to spin off its television operations.

However, Sony has prevented the idea, deciding instead to divide the operations into three units focusing on LCD TVs, outsourcing operations, and the next generation of TV. Stringer and based on the comments, it seems many of the investments in his company dollars are thrown on the next generation of TV.

If and when Sony "another kind of television set" in the market may be forced to stand with Apple.

Last month was speculation that Apple was planning to launch its own television after it was revealed in the authorized biography of Steve Jobs', the company founder was busy with plans for an Apple set to launch.

"I want a fully integrated TV is easy to use," Jobs to his biographer Walter Isaacson. "It would be perfectly synchronized with all your equipment and to icloud. It would be the simplest user interface you would think. I've finally broken."

But Stringer do not think Apple will break into the TV room with a new idea so lightly, told the magazine that "it takes a long time to transition to a new form of television."

For IOS versions for iOS 5, including iPod branding used media player programs for the iPhone and the iPad, iPhone version is essentially a combination of music and video applications on the iPod Touch.
