Twitter, Facebook flooded with reaction to Jobs' death

Internet and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter immediately lit Wednesday evening with the news of the death of Apple chairman Steve Jobs.

Jobs, who was 56, had a legion of enthusiastic admirers in high-tech world, as well as an enthusiastic and loyal following in the mainstream of people who loved their Apple-made devices and computers.

That admiration did Wednesday in expressions of surprise and sorrow over the adoption of Jobs'.

Apple.com instead replaced by the typical website with a picture of Jobs and only the words: Steve Jobs, 1955-2011.

Apple has also created an e-mail address (rememberingsteve@apple.com) for people who wanted to send in their thoughts, memories and condolences.

Twitter, the microblogging site was struggling with the flood of tweets after news of the death Jobs' and honor the man. At one point, five of the top trending topics on site were 10 related to the job - RIP Steve Jobs, # thanks Steve, iHeaven, icloud and only the 56th

While many people just tweeted the famous Apple symbol, others felt about his performance, and how deep Jobs changed the world of personal computing devices.

Someone like Mattchew03 tweeted: "It's crazy to think how many people share the news of the death Steve Jobs' using the equipment that he invented." And the people who work at NASA's Kepler mission tweeted: "Your innovative vision inspired a world beyond its borders, you will be thoroughly missed Thanks Steve Jobs RIP ...."
