HP's Vertica unit, which focuses on big data and unstructured data, has launched a certification program for technology professionals.

The program, delivered through ExpertOne HP certification effort revolves around the use of Vertica in large data implementations and business cases. The program is available for HP channel partners and customers.

HP's move is likely to be a trend among companies become giants. IT staff know that big data is a hotspot and every database administrator will want a data scientist. Gartner predicted that big data will be 4.4 million jobs in 2015. For business sellers, it pays to certifications that are twice as training programs for their hardware and software.

Chris Selland, vice president of marketing at HP Vertica, said that there are many customers who are interested in large data certifications. Meanwhile, IT professionals see big data as a good step in my career. Anecdotally, Selland he noted a holiday party and heard a junior in high school wanted a data scientist. "Many companies are surprised about the people and talent needs with big data," he said.

The three-to four-day curriculum start with the program, but at a high level, the monetizing analysis, optimization and growth record. The training is aimed at system administrators, database analysts and application developers. An overview of HP's Vertica database architecture, installation and data management is included.

HP's ExpertOne program offers certifications on over 500,000 IT professionals. The Vertica large data certification will run $ 2,000 per person in a public training and $ 7,500 for private lessons.
